Fishing Carolina Beach

Ramps at eastern end of Snow's Cut.
If you're thinking of trailering your boat, you'll be pleased to find four uncrowded ramps at Snow's Cut, and another four at Carolina Beach State Park. Located off Dow Road at the junction of Snow's Cut and the Cape Fear River, the park also offers fuel and restrooms, and has forty slips. Slip renters also have access to shower facilities, as well as snacks and other amenities for sale. Smaller boats will find plenty of sport around the mouths of inlets and creeks, especially on the incoming tides when the game fish follow the bait fish inland.

Charter Boats

When you're in quest of bigger game, consider chartering as an option. With over two dozen charter boat companies operating in Carolina Beach, you can choose your options to fit your budget and schedule. While most are set up for six people, many of the captains will do a split-charter to carry two parties at the same time. Most will also accommodate handicapped fishermen.

Inshore charters can be as short as two hours, and typically catch red and black drum, large bluefish, speckled trout, flounder and black bass.
