I was in this unit for 8 months from Sep 2020-Apr 2021. The bad:

-The unit was a little dirty, those critiques are valid, it just needed a little vacuuming (which is provided!). There are some grosser areas such as behind the TV that could use a good scrub.
-I found many dead "waterbugs" while I was there, and worse I found a few live ones. In one particularly traumatic incident I picked up a cooking tray out of the cabinet to find a HUGE one live and crawling inside.
-for those who care (I don't) the fixtures/finishes/appliances/cabinets are dated. But if you're only staying for a week, who cares?
-The deck furniture is cheap and could definitely stand to be replaced
-overall the place just needs some repairs here and there, loose wood planks on the deck, screen door replacement
-the parking space is the only one that is not covered in this building.

The good:
-The view is wonderful.
-The walkway down to the beach was repaired in September last year, so there is no issue with beach access! It was very convenient.
-The bed is huge and very comfortable. I brought my own bedding so I can't speak to that.
-Good wifi, generous cable package
-Kitchen has everything you need to prepare any meals
-The deck is without a doubt the best in the entire complex. It is completely secluded from other units, way larger than all but the one below and it's on the top floor so there is ample sunshine.
-Extremely quiet location. The worst you'll ever here is a few kids in the pool a few doors down.
-it's a long walk but it is 20-25 minutes to the pier and a few restaurants which I found lovely!
-nice pool area and the deck furniture was just replaced this year

Overall, this place has its flaws however I still think it's wonderful. and was affordable for month-to month. I think it's great for a couple looking for a quiet getaway but may be a little small for a family. Intracoastal always promptly

Property was described well and the photographs are representative of current condition. Deck area was relaxing with direct and unobstructed ocean view. Kitchen is stocked with utensils, pots, appliances and everything needed. The stack washer/dryer is helpful as well. Enjoyed our stay. Would recommend unit for small group, but was perfect for our two-person stay.

The location was nice. The property was suitable in size and in layout for a couple. The property clearly needs updating by owner and perhaps more careful monitoring by the cleaning service. The maintenance staff was very responsive to issues--if a problem was noted, they were there the same day: e.g. lock on door (when we arrived in evening) wouldn't unlock; window, when cranked open, wouldn't close; leak rotting the wood under the sink), and other minor problems. We would still recommend this property to a friend, if improvements were made.

My only complaint is that there wasn’t enough parking, as well as people parking illegally and didn’t notice towing being enforced. The pullout bed wasn’t as comfortable as I was hoping. Everything else was great!!!!! Loved the location and the rental!!!! It was clean and so comfortable. The deck is good size as well and comes with plenty of chairs. The kitchen was stocked with more dishes and cook wear than I expected!!!!

Was not happy to learn that Ocean Dunes 104 was third floor--not first floor as I had been led to believe. Was unable to change. However, the property was nice, but needs some improvements: a) oven had not been cleaned, burners had to be cleaned before using, b) shelf in overhead cabinet needs support - sagging, c) pool was cloudy with alot of sand on bottom, d) deck furniture is the cheap plastic type and the sun has weakened it further, e) storm door would not close properly--had to 'jam' it to keep it closed when thunderstorms approached, f) dishwasher had a tendency to unlock in the middle of a cycle, come to a stop, and did not rinse very well. Overall, the property was nice and just needs some minor repairs/updates. the location was great and depending on the rest of the family, might stay in the Ocean Dunes complex next year.

Basically, I didn't want to write a review because I hope this place doesn't get too filled up with others and we can't book again. We were there for the beach, so to be honest we were outside most of the time. But the house had everything we needed. And the location cannot be beat. Fell in love with the area. My only negative would be the hide a bed. I'm not sure it's accurate to say it sleeps 4 because that mattress felt a little hazardous. But other than that, we had an amazing stay and staff was wonderful.

The process was very smooth. Liked the email reminders and the app. The deck chairs were not safe to use. They were flimsy and some were broken. We were not able to sit on them at all. Had to bring our chairs from inside every time we sat on the deck. I feel like the condo should have provided toilet paper and trash bags- we had to purchase both. Both of these items are reflected in the 4star rating in the area of general condition. Excellent view and location!!

I had a very hard time finding the correct Intracoastal office. The vertical blinds on the sliding doors need replacing. The storm door latch needs repair. Otherwise the rental was nice, neighbors were friendly. Property was clean.

My rental experience was very positive. I have stayed in many different units in Ocean dunes since 1996. So i know what to expect. Clean unit and we had everything we needed for a great getaway from our hectic lives. The only kind of drawback was this unit does not have a car port/garage to park your vehicle. I think it is literally the only unit in Ocean Dunes without one because I have always had one. There was a parking spot marked by our condo but it says "guest" on the concrete where we are supposed to park. Some nights other cars were parked in the spot when this needs to be marked "104" on the concrete and not "Guest". The person who rents the condo deserves the spot because there is no garage with this unit.
That being said if that was my only problem then i think life is pretty good right? But i would seriously consider changing that.
This unit could use some updating with the amenities and furniture in the near future too.

I thoroughly enjoyed this vacation and the condo. Thank you so much. The location is the best ever if you like to be away from the crowds and enjoy the surf. It was a bit difficult to drag my luggage up all the stairs but totally worth the effort. Anyone with any physical impairments should know this condo is not for you.

We really enjoyed our time at the Ocean Dunes condo. The unit was clean and well stocked with linens and kitchen items. Some of the outdoor deck furniture was in poor shape but we managed. There was no lock on the sliding glass door but there was a piece of wood in the track to take the place of a lock. Again managable. But not too classy. lol
We would definitely stay there again because of the location.

Overall our stay was wonderful! Great location, love the top deck for sunning in the mornings and chillin' in the evenings. Not crowded on the beach. Overall cleanliness of the condo was OK--the tub was dirty underneath the bathtub mat not sure it was cleaned, we did not call maintenance since this was did not discovered this until late Sat. night, I just cleaned it & removed the mat (actually left mat out as it appeared to be moldy). Carpeted areas could have been more thoroughly vacuumed.

Ocean Dunes 104 was perfect for our vacation. The location was excellent. The condo was not fancy and that was fine. It was clean and everything that we needed was available. The deck was amazing. Access to the beach was easy and not too far. We did not use the pool or the rec center. It would have been nice to have had covered parking but that would not keep us from renting this unit again. We brought our bikes and enjoyed the little bit of riding that we did. It is nice to have bike lanes.
The bathroom shower began to drain slowly later in the week. When I called the office they were able to take care of it that afternoon.
Our child is a student at UNCW and I foresee more trips to the beach in our future. This property will be our go-to for accommodations. Easy, friendly booking, great location and good price.

The view could not have been better, it was great to wake up every morning and sit out on the balcony to watch the sunrise over the ocean. The unit itself could use some updating. We tried the hide a bed on the sofa so we could hear the waves at night but it was too uncomfortable to sleep on. They could really use some blackout drapes in the bedroom because of the outside lights. Although the unit is kind of "dated", the view is the reason to rent this unit. It was a very relaxing and quiet vacation.

If you want to be in a quiet location on the water you'll really enjoy your stay. There aren't many people around the housing community or on the beach here.

The furniture, dishes, appliances and outdoor furniture need serious updating. The bedroom needs a room darkening shade or curtains because there's a street light right outside the window and it lights up the whole room. After reading other reviews about this problem I asked for the update prior to arrival but I'm told the owner said no. Fortunately my sister had a black table cloth so I made my own temporary update.

There are miles and miles to walk safely and lots going on "down the street" in either direction.

The bathroom toilet had black mold & urine smell when we arrived. After I cleaned under the rim there was no smell. Cleaning crew needs to take notice to details such as this problem.

Cute and very clean! The property owners need to revaluate not replacing the beach access. We would have went out on the beach more if it had been more convenient. That's a reason you pay for a place that's "on" the beach.

This one- bedroom condo is perfect for a couple who likes the quiet scene. The location is perfect: on the ocean, on the edge of Fort Fischer, near the ferry, & far enough away from the bustle of Carolina Beach. A great place to do nothing but run, go to the beach & decide where to eat!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Gorgeous views of the ocean, convenient location, and a cozy cation getaway. Black out curtains in the bedroom would have been nice and we had to purchase a topper for the bed (due to a very stiff mattress), but overall it was a wonderful condo.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Ocean Dunes 104 very had all that we needed and we loved the deck that made us feel like we were right on the beach without the sand. The two flights of stairs were sometimes a challenge, but we were very comfortable in our little nest.

Overall the condo was very nice and clean. The balcony was great. The property managers were very nice. We enjoyed the stay even though Hurricane Arthur arrived. The only drawback to this condo is no access to a garage like the other condo's have..only a parking space. Would recommend this to relatives.

This Oceans Dunes rental is a great location, great price and great amenities. While the unit lacked charm, it was large enough and amply furnished. Unfortunately, the mattress was in horrible condition (felt like sleeping on potatoes), the blankets were awful, and there were only 2 pillows (the unit sleeps 4). Also, the dishwasher didn't work well and we had to re-wash dishes by hand.

We have been renting a condo ( for vacation) in the Ocean Dunes Condo Complex for 18 years. This was by far the best unit we have ever rented-It was oceanfront, 3rd floor, private, quiet, nicely decorated, freshly painted, had a good bed in it, & was clean!!! We even thought the price was reasonable! Intercoastal Realty was great to deal with- our bedroom TV didn't work & the maintance man was there in 10 mins (& refused to take a tip!) 'Loved it so much, we hope to return every year for vacation!

The location was excellent, but the place was cheap. The sink leaked, there were no paper towels or trash bags, the microwave was literaaly falling apart, and the toilet paper was cheaper than I imagined toilet paper could ever be.

We had a very pleasant stay. The property location was perfect. You could not ask for better. Bridget was very helpful and a delight to deal with. Now, the unit could use some work. No hangers in the closets - all four closets. The rugs, particularly in the MBR need to be cleaned, or better yet, replaced. Same with LR rug. It might be nice if they upgraded the dishes/mugs. Right now you get the feeling the pieces are stolen from a diner.
Having said that, we would probably rent the unit again. Just tell the owner to spend a few bucks to spiff the place up.

We loved Ocean Dunes! It is a family oriented complex. The beach is beautiful and never crowded. Our unit was decorated nicely and was super clean. The views from the living room, deck, and bedroom were fantastic!!! We would stay here again!

Great stay. Had a wonderful time. The facilities were in great shape. Beach was just a few steps away, which we enjoyed every day. Wilmington was close by and we did alot of shopping and visited several palces to eat there. This was a new experience for me at Kure Beach, as I have been staying in Surfside Beach, SC the past several years. It was a well thought out vacation. I trust when my son and I come back next week we will enjoy the same great experience. Thanks to your staff for making it a very pleasurable experience.
