How to book the best vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Carolina Beach area. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 096 Pier Fun by Sunset Vacations has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
