Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best rental in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Amie and Pops Place: Perfect Four Bedroom, Four Bathroom Duplex for All has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
