NEW TO Vacation Rental By Owner FOR 2024! Don’t be deterred by the lack of reviews, my property was managed by a local property management company until late 2023 and is brand new to Vacation Rental By Owner. I am a Super Host on another platform for another property I own, so be assured you are in good hands!

OIB is a very family-friendly destination and the playground on the island is currently undergoing updates/additions and should be ready by summer 2024. The Summer Concert Series on Friday nights throughout the summer are a blast for the whole family. Come experience all that OIB has to offer.

Sticking to your budget:

• Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
• The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
• Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
• Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
• On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
• Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
