Tricks and tips to get the optimal Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking yourrental:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Gorgeous 6 bedroom house - two kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms! has 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
