Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, change your family's Carolina Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Soak at the Oak: Oceanview condo with community pool and close beach access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
