Tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Sunset Beach. To get the best value, shift your family's Carolina Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

How to select the best rental:

  • To start, have your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 1st Floor 2 BR Villa - Beautiful Views - (CV25A) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
