Our top Rental property booking tips:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To find the best rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental home in Oak Island:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sea Style: Elegant Coastal Home with Year-round Private Pool has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
