Rental booking tips:

Get the best rental value:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking your Carolina Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Turtle Soup: Oceanfront home in East Beach with plenty of ocean leading windows has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
