How to find the best Oak Island rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing the perfectrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. BRAND NEW, 7 BR\/5.5 BA Oceanfront Home with POOL in Deck & Elevator-Sleeps20 has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
