Tricks and tips to get the optimal Carolina Beach rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Oak Island. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best vacation home in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Cozy stay close to everything with backyard, bikes, grill, & washer\/dryer has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
