"Hakuna Matata" is a striking four-bedroom home located in the relaxing West End of Oak Island just across the street from the beach. The home features an inverted floor plan with the main living areas and kitchen on the top floor where the expansive ocean vistas are beautiful. The gourmet kitchen with granite counters and brand new stainless appliances will even make cooking enchanting on vacation!

In addition to the close by ocean and beach, we are located between two public water access points on Davis Canal for fishing or kayaking.

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Holden Beach and Ocean Isle Beach. Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are also worth visiting.

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking your Carolina Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses.   • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback.
