Our top Carolina Beach rental property booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the right Carolina Beach rental home:

  • To start, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Spring Fling 10% Discount until Aug 31st has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
