About this Property

"The Sun Spot" 1404 Canal Dr suite 27 is A PUP FRIENDLY 3rd story condo managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate and may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "The Sun Spot" is a two-bedroom calming condo that's just a block from our sandy shores and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!

The space;

Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing holiday (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, our "max. capacity" and restricted parking options will always limit the number of visitors who can both rent on and visit our Island simultaneously! Although always relative, this provides a bit more elbow room and open space than average for those looking for more “distancing” and privacy than some bigger public beaches. It’s a family-aligned beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and moderate walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Come with the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a enormous inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and savor yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).

These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world grace, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everybody! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while visiting with us on our Island!

The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2 bath suite opens into a freshly furbished family room combined with an open dining area and thoroughly supplied kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is supplied will all the basic preparing and dining silverware one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen. *It is important to note that it is NOT an owner’s job to give personal family items for visitors. From toiletries and linens, to community food stuffs and condiments it is ESPECIALLY important during this current climate for any used items of another to be discarded before our new visitors arrive to ensure an optimally hygienic space

The unit's ONE (1) QUEEN bed and TWO (2) TWIN beds consists of either a plush opulence bed or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition bed because we want all of our visitors to be peaceful when it comes time to recharge. Remember, linens are NOT supplied to keep your costs low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Oceanside Linens & Units).

There is a 50” Intelligent WIFI TV (with approx. 25 channels through the Charter Spectrum cable) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and appreciate some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Come with a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or other such casting device if looking to ensure all of the tech amenities from home are available during your stay!

Guest access;

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE and private balcony.

OUTSIDE: There is no outdoor storage, nor exterior receptacles to utilize. The communal pool DOES have a separate shower area to help keep the sand outdoor where it belongs!

PARKING: Each guest will have access to (1) ONE assigned carport parking space (park inside and only inside your assigned carport). Be SURE to DISPLAY your parking pass to prevent an accidental tow! Parking elsewhere will likely result in a tow. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come fist serve basis. We do not recommend any lot or proprietor in particular.

Neighborhood description;

How to get the best deal on your rental

  • Search for the official tourism bureau in the area you wish to travel. Most established tourism bureaus will send promotional tourism guide books with savings for vacation rentals, dining and tours. These guides may provide a great start to your rental home search.
  • Are you willing to alter your travel dates? Shoulder seasons provide phenomenal prices.
  • Plenty of property management companies and owners offer price reductions for active duty and veteran members of the US Armed forces, or repeat individuals to the same vacation home. Be sure to check with property owner to see if your vacationing crew is eligible for a discounted price.
  • Is there a particular experience you are most getting excited about ? If there's a specific Carolina Beach activity you simply love, look for rentals that cater especially to your needs.
  • Rental companies and individual property owners frequently offer customers the opportunity to purchase trip insurance coverage. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you somewhere between 1% - 5% of the basic term cost, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation expenses for any nights missed as a result of medical related emergencies or hurricanes, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or expenses, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas.

General Rental property Information

Many people are shocked to learn just how many rental properties are located in their area of interest. Rental homes are gaining in popularity among vacationers, and visitors will find that the sheer number of vacation rentals available makes it possible to find an optimum retreat to fit their Carolina Beach crew, from tranquil condominiums to colossal event homes with several bedrooms.

The vast majority of rental properties in Carolina Beach are privately owned and many are represented by established local rental management companies. Owners frequently select management companies to assist with advertising, housekeeping and regular maintenance.

Seasoned Carolina Beach vacationers have discovered a few tips and tricks throughout the years when it comes to renting vacation homes, however many novices will be happy to know that several "tricks" are in plain sight, if you recognize where they should search.

How to find and reserve the best rental home:

Before you start to book ""The Sun Spot" A pup friendly condo!", review our brief collection of factors to consider.

Start Your Search Early

Like many desirable vacation spots, In Carolina Beach the best vacation homes are booked early. To ensure the most desirable selection of vacation homes, we recommend searching and reserving your Carolina Beach getaway 6-Twelve months before your travel dates, whenever you can. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to find and reserve your rental..

Choose a Village and Time

Agreement can be tough among relatives, but once this challenging part is finished everything will quickly drop in place.

Bedrooms and Bed Sizes Matter

Determine who is attending the vacation, and just how many/what sort of bedroom arrangement you will need. Be aware that most rental homes advertise maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in the home's living room. You'll need to determine what is suitable for the party. Precise descriptions of bedrooms and beds are typically available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home.

Determine Your Budget

Make sure that ""The Sun Spot" A pup friendly condo!" suits your price range *during your desired week*. If multiple groups or relatives are sharing the cost, always make sure that each party knows their responsibilities and has approved a maximum they are prepared to contribute. In most cases, a single member of the group will be liable for making the complete reservation and recovering each person's contribution.

Create a list of "Preferences" and "Needs"

What amenities is the family searching for? Is a screened deck a necessity? Does the unit need to be beach front, the downtown area, or close to wildlife? Are items like beach chairs, barbecue grills, beach umbrellas, beach carts or coolers available and included with your rental fee? Create a list of priority amenities to guide filter your search.

Accessability

Grandma and Grandpa will appreciate you for not renting a stairs-access-only property on the 3rd floor. Make sure to remember and inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and special equipment requirements..

Your Dog Deserves a Vacation, Too

Remember to include your companion! Animals are welcome at many vacation homes, but policies differ. Type of pet, size and dog breeds might be controlled. Study your contract carefully! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Searching the Internet

Many internet resources exist to match guests with rental home owners.. In addition to Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we suggest searching Google for "Carolina Beach local rentals" for local vacation home management companies. Local property management companies proudly offer an exceptional vacation experience.

Negotiate the Price

Re-read the description to ensure that the rental home has everything you need. If something is missing, the property management company might know of very similar properties that suit your style and budget..

Some rental home owners will negotiate prices, and some will not. If they are unwilling to budge on a peak-season week, try getting an extra night. Off-peak season offers your best opportunity to make a deal for a reduced rate.

Study the Agreement

You will want to know which services are included:

  • Electric bills
  • Internet Connectivity
  • Long Distance Phone Service
  • Pool and hot tub heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Cleaning Fees
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking requirements

Get a total that includes state taxes, pet and other additional fees.

What's the Cancellation Policy?

Cancellation policies vary with each rental. You will probably be offered trip insurance. Trip insurance guards the renter against emergencies and weather events, It offers peace of mind should catastrophe strike.

Complete the Booking

When everything seems correct, it's finally time to sign a rental agreement. You will probably have to submit a security deposit at time of reservation.

Keep Your Contact's Information

Put the property manager's contact info into your phone and wallet for easy access to answers during your stay.

Good job on booking your rental home! You're on your way to a fabulous vacation!

During your Stay

  • Take pictures at your arrival. To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, create a record of any trouble spots of the property. If you discover problems, or if repairs are required call the property manager straight away.
  • Should there be any ambiguity about parking, rules of the house, house access, swimming pool functions, etc... we suggest you ask the rental home manager promptly. A quick phone call eliminates many headaches.
  • Be considerate of the local community. More often than not, neighboring residences are occupied by permanent residents. Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by visitors next to your home.
  • Ask a local. Natives are a fantastic source of suggestions.
  • Don't forget to protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental home locked up when you are away, exactly like you would at home.

At the end of your stay

  • Clean up a little bit. Even if you're spending money on a housekeeping fee, The vacation home needs to be in good shape. Kitchen sinks filled with dirty dishes, substantial sand on the floor and sticky messes should be dealt with before leaving.
  • Make a point to walk through the rental one final time and look for property damage. Whenever possible, do this walk-out assessment with the property owner present. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How was your getaway? Most rental home management companies and rental websites allow travellers to give feedback. If the rental and/or property manager was excellent, they will likely appreciate your praise. If anything was wrong and they didn't correct it in a practical manner, or if the vacation rental was not as described, you'll want to make it a point in your review.

Learn from your Stay

Hold a vacation recap meeting with the people in your group. Does everyone want to return next year? If everything was wonderful, next year's trip planning will be relatively easy. If the rental property wasn't quite right, and you will better understand how to filter your search for the next trip.

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
