Take Up The Slack Guide Service runs angling trips out of Oak Island and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.

Capt. Kirk aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you’re after! Depending on the trip and species, you’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, jigging, and spinning. You’re looking at 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, King Mackerel, and Speckled Trout, depending on the weather and time of year.

You’ll be fishing from a 24’ Long Bay Custom boat with enough room for up to 3 anglers at any single time. It also includes an ice box and a wireless trolling motor.

When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain so you don’t have to worry about it. You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip.

The price of your trip also includes complimentary water, but you’re welcome to bring your own. Please let the captain know if you have any questions or special requests.
