Leland visitors with a big appetite can satisfy a BBQ craving and then some with a visit to Old South BBQ. Featuring both a set menu and a big buffet, this BBQ joint has all the southern staples that hungry patrons crave, as well as a no-frills, casual atmosphere, where hospitality shines.
Old South BBQ is located in a simple one-story building along the busy and centrally located Village Road. Though the exterior and interior are both fairly basic, the food earns raves reviews from locals and visitors alike, thanks to big portions and plenty of down-home flavor. Patrons can order the buffet to try a little bit of everything, or can load up on a hearty sandwich or plate which includes southern specialties like baby back ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and Old South’s famous fried chicken. All of these big meals can be accompanied by one of the classic Lowcountry sides, like Brunswick stew, sweet corn, mac and cheese, potato salad, hushpuppies, black-eyed peas, green beans, and Haah N’ Rice. Though fairly simple, the overflowing plates and tasty southern fare of the popular (and often busy) Old South BBQ will make anyone a fan of Eastern Barbecue at its best
