The Shoppes at Squigley’s® consists of an ice cream parlor and a gift shop. Its owners, Ann and Joe, are locals, seniors, ex-teacher, ex-military, ex-corporate and started Squigley’s 32 years ago. They pride themselves on having the best and widest variety, 4,050 flavors, and the most unique gift shop on the island and beyond.

Squigley’s is a people business starting with over a million past customers, supportive townspeople and loyal customer service associates who serve the best ice cream in the state of North Carolina. Squigley’s is proud of having NBC’s Today Show surveying the entire USA, selecting the top 17 ice cream parlors in the U.S. and listing Squigley’s as number eight.

Squigley’s makes, via special machines, a variety of ice creams, in addition to normal hard dip flavors, that surpass every national chain in the country. Vanilla ice cream and the customer’s choices of fresh fruits, candy, nuts, cookies, pies and/or cakes are crushed, chopped, mixed and remixed so that the juice, flavorings and natural ingredients are dispensed to create the perfect Squigley.

These custom made “Your Way” Treats using a few of the three dozen ingredient favorites are the best! Don’t think “added sugar”because many custom made Squigley’s are from natural fruits. Lactose intolerant customers and diabetics can enjoy an ALL Fruit Squigley that looks like it has ice cream but does not. In addition to serving unique and “normal” REAL ice cream made by inspected dairies, Squigley’s also makes its own homemade waffle cones and waffle bowls using a rare extract from orchids.
