Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the best value:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. \"Air\" Cottage @ Bald Head Island - walking distance to ferry & restaurants has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
