Tips and Tricks to get the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Here Comes the Sunset is a gorgeous home with incredible views of the Sunset Beach Intercoastal waterway and just a short walk to the beach! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
