Tips to get the optimal Carolina Beach rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. UNCW Midtown Ranch Home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
