Located by the sea, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Smith Island Museum of History and Franklin Square Gallery are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Oak Island Lighthouse and Bald Head Island Lighthouse. Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are also worth visiting. How to find the best rental experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. To find the largest rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Carolina Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.

  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
