Aussie Island Surf Shop

Wrightsville Beach has a dedicated local and visiting surfing community, and newcomers or old pros who need to upgrade their equipment and gear can make an easy stop at Aussie Island Surf Shop. Located on Lumina Avenue, just off the Channel Bridge and only a few blocks away from the beach, this central destination can supply surfers with everything they need to tackle the local waves, from spring suits to new boards.

Aussie Island Surf Shop is found within a Carolina Blue one-story building, which makes it stand out in a sea of multi-story hotels and vacation rentals. Despite its modest size, inside, patrons will find a nice selection of all the top surfing brands, as well as a bevy of rentals which includes stand-up paddle boards (SUPS), surfboards, body boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, and bikes. Knowledgeable staff can point newcomers in the right direction on what to pick, and there’s also a variety of men and women’s clothing, swim suits, sunscreen and other beach-worthy items. Serving the local area since 1990, with a defined presence in the surfing community thanks to the sponsorship of contests, giveaways, events, and even athletes, Aussie Island Surf Shop is a local icon on the Wrightsville Beach shoreline.
