


Greenfield Lake Park is known as one of Wilmington’s coolest and most scenic destinations, and is a vast public park that’s located just south of the historic downtown area. Located on the western edge of Greenfield Lake, and just a stone’s throw from the Cape Fear Riverfront, this pretty public park is the perfect spot for hikers, birdwatchers, kayakers, and anyone who appreciates a natural vista to take a break from the bustling city and simply unwind.


The park comprises of roughly 250 acres, and features two unlit tennis courts, the acclaimed “Greenfield Grind” skate park, boat rentals, and a lovely 5-mile long biking and hiking trail that winds through a good portion of the park’s lush, seasonal gardens. In addition, park-goers can spend ample time outside enjoying the playgrounds, the wide open space that’s perfect for a pick-up Frisbee game, picnic areas with grills, and seasonal concession stands for light snacks. Greenfield Lake Park also hosts a range of special evets at the beautiful outdoor amphitheater, and everyday visitors can simply enjoy a stroll and a nice view of the wildlife, which ranges from egrets and herons to local alligators. Fun for all ages, the Greenfield Lake Park can suit veritably any outdoor activity on or off the water.
