How to get the best rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. Book your Carolina Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:

  • To start, have your family agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 10% off All Bookings Made by April 30 - Amazing Ocean Views from Lovely 2 BR Condo w\/ Pool at OIBVs. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Carolina Beach attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
