Tips and Tricks to get the very best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Coastal Carolina at its best has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
