Tips to get the perfect Holden Beach vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront house with fireplace, central AC, W\/D & outdoor shower - dog-friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
