Wrightsville Beach vacation rental tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. DR 1309 – Getaway to this oceanfront condo with pool and direct beach access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
