Tricks and tips to get the optimal Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Heart Of Wilmington Vacation For You! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
