About this Property

This fantastic historic home is where we live and yours to savor. Your part is the entire first floor of this converted Duplex. You have your own entrance and plenty of privacy so relax and find out why we appreciate it! Convenient parking and no need for an Uber or your car. This unique and cheerful space is ideal for travelers looking for a place that has its own character and appeal. Our space is also kid-friendly and great for families.

This is the first floor of an impressive historic downtown home. Many homes in this neighborhood are historic housed converted to Duplexes. We appreciate walking around and checking out the other homes! We live upstairs and you'll have the whole first floor to yourself. We usually come and go by the back door so, the front and your back door are used solely entirely by you.

We fell in adore with this home because of the elegant wood floors, woodwork, high ceilings, and turn-of-the-century charm. A supplied kitchen and dining room table for meals, front and back decks, simple street parking, a huge living room with two couches, comfortable beds, and the bathroom has a cute clawfoot bathtub. You have the entire place to yourself. Appreciate your morning cup of coffee on the porch swing or walk to Bespoke coffee and peaceful downtown Wilmington for breakfast.

It's a great old home and it's a wood home. You're going to hear us walking around and sometimes even being a little loud with a friend or two (at reasonable hours of course). You'll hear us get up in the morning and get our son ready for school at 6:30am. If you're a really light sleeper or hate mornings, you might not want to book this place. Although we have a no partying rule, we understand that you're on vacation and you may make some noise or come home late after walking downtown. It's ok, just appreciate yourself. If you're too noisy, we'll just message you and ask you too tone it down. You can do the same for us. Just be happy!

This great old home has a front and back porch on both the first and second floor! We enjoy calming on the second floor porches so the first floor is mostly yours to use anytime. Lots of our guests adore swinging on the porch swing and appreciating the mornings. We appreciate that they appreciate it!

Please do not use the driveway. It's just a tiny driveway between two homes and barely fits a car. We park in the back and there are not any additional spaces there. However, there is a ton of complimentary street parking and, unless there is a major festival, you will never have any trouble finding a spot right in front of the home. Note: The neighbor in the green and yellow home next door is really sensitive about people parking in front of his home. Please help us keep the neighborhood happy and park anywhere but in front of the green and yellow neighbors home.

We are here if you need us, invisible if you don't. You can check in anytime with the keypad lock and start relaxing! We'll likely text you during your stay to let you know we are available. If I don't hear from you, we will assume you're happy!

We chose this home because of its magnificant historic charm and its location is the best. It's a neighborhood right in downtown. All the homes are nice and so is this one. You're going to adore it! Just a short walk to downtown, eateries, bars, entertainment, the riverfront, museums, historic tours.

Striking downtown Wilmington. See tons of striking homes as you walk around the neighborhood the scenery is striking.

You can walk pretty much everywhere, this is a prime location.
We are 15 mins. to the beaches and a 5 min walk to the river walk. We're on Princess street so a strait walk, 4 blocks will get you directly in the center of Downtown Wilmington.

We have a self check in process that is painless and convenient. We provide a code on your arrival date for the keypad on the door as well as your private entrance.

This is an old home and for some, that's part of the charm. We have proudly remodeled and decorated it, and kept its original fixtures when possible. If you like old homes, wood floors, cool lights and light switches, this is your jam. If you see older homes as ugly and cumbersome, this is not your place- please feel complimentary to check out some of our more modern listings.

You will find some water and snacks when you arrive.

The TV is a Roku TV. You can log into your favorite subscriptions and enjoy your favorites channels from home.

Checkout: Checkout is 11am, but we can offer late checkout as availability accepts. 12pm checkout is $20, and 1pm checkout is $30. Please contact us first and if we can accommodate your late checkout, we will be happy to.

Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental home:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. High Tide Historic Duplex has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
