Our top Bald Head Island vacation rental booking tips:

When to visit Bald Head Island & When to book:

  • To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Carolina Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Large ocean view home, large separate living space, great for teenagers or multi families has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
