Centrally located and close to both island bridges, this bright and cheerful bungalow only four rows back from the water is waiting to welcome you and up to two dogs per stay for a calming oceanside holiday. With a split floor plan featuring two bedrooms and a shared hall bath on either side of the open concept living area, this is an ideal beach home for two families to share and savor together.

The remodeled kitchen includes numerous new major kitchen appliances, Quartz countertops and backsplash and freshly painted cabinets with plenty of storage for your items. The rest of the home has also been newly refreshed throughout with new floor, washer/dryer, couches and comforters.

The inviting features continue outside, where you’ll find an broad covered back porch with plenty of seating (including lounge chairs and a rocker), a gate to help keep little ones corralled and a view that includes glimpses of the water. There is also an open front deck with additional furnishings. Dine al Fresca at the picnic table underneath the home and then appreciate the breeze with a drink in hand while lazily swaying on the porch swing. The driveway provides ample parking for your entire group.

A short walk of fewer than 900 feet takes you from the driveway to the sand where you’ll lay your blanket, and a huge outdoor cooler with wheels is included and stored in an outdoor closet to help get your things to the beach. A roomy enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water as well as a changing area make cleaning up after returning from the beach a breeze.

As an added additional, the breathtaking walkway over the Davis Canal at 29th St is even closer than the beach and provides a incredible opportunity to view the island’s wildlife, including foxes, herons and other shorebirds, deer and more. This walkway also provides simple access to the Oak Island Rec Center, where kayaks can be rented to discover the island's waterways. You're also only a two-min. drive from Heron Lookout Park on 40th Street.

Booking the best Oak Island vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer time is high season in the Carolina Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Carolina Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing the bestvacation home:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pelican Palace: Beachwalk Home Centrally Located on Oak Island has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
