Tips and Tricks to get the very best Carolina Beach rental home experience:

Get the best value:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your Carolina Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Pet-friendly, fully-fenced yard, minutes to beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Carolina Beach attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
