Strategies for getting the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Get the best value:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Surfsong: Oceanfront Home in Private Setting on West Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
