Oak Island rental property booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Tropical Breeze / 228 W Dolphin Drive - Coastal Vacation Resorts has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
