Oak Island Lighthouse and Bald Head Island Lighthouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Oak Island Golf Club and The Reserve Golf Club at St. James Plantation. North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport and Magic Mountain Fun Park are also worth visiting.
