Vacation rental home tips:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. Book your Carolina Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Hemingway Retreat: 2 BR, 2 BA Apartment in Wilmington, Sleeps 4 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach attraction you love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
