Stay at "American Dreaming" and check off all of your vacation boxes! Sit by the firepit in our fenced backyard and listen to the sounds of the crashing waves, which are 1 block down the street. Head down to the beach during the day and cool off in our private stock tank pool while your kids play ping pong in the gameroom. Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island, is home to this vacation home. Oak Island Lighthouse and Bald Head Island Lighthouse are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Kure Beach and Caswell Beach. Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are also worth visiting.

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses.   • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
