Smile and Wave. Our second row beach home has been freshly refreshed and we can't wait to share this family friendly home with you! We are located on the east side of Ocean Isle Beach about 1 mile from the center of town. Our home is steps away from the beach access so its very simple to run back and forth to the home for anything you may have forgotten!

Our reverse floor plan optimizes ocean vistas in the space that you will be spending most of your time. The open family room, dining room, and kitchen offer impressive vistas of the ocean. With 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, Smile and Wave sleeps up to 14 people so we have plenty of room for you, your family, and your friends. There are 2 master bedrooms (one on the top floor and one on the first floor) each offering King beds and their own bath. The 3 remaining bedrooms are all on first floor along with two additional bathrooms. Each level features a enormous deck spanning the width of the home for calming or dining . All bedrooms have TVs with Roku devices so you can sign in to any streaming service that you like. There is a huge, private outdoor shower to rinse off in after a day at the beach!

For families with modest kids, our home is outfitted with a infant gate, pack and play, booster seat, high chair, umbrella stroller, and a variety of beach toys.

We added an EV charger in 2022 that is available to our guests for an additional fee.

Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Newly remodeled second row home with beautiful views and steps to the beach! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
