Tips to get the best Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your Carolina Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Views! Pool, Spa, Private Backyard in OKI has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
