Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking your prefect Carolina Beach rental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. THE GOOD LIFE \/ 3220 E. Beach Drive - Coastal Vacation Resorts has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
