Tricks and tips to get the optimal Carolina Beach rental home experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to reserve a Oak Island rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. SunBurns: Dog-friendly Home with Private Pool on Oak Island has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
