Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Carolina Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best vacation rental in Holden Beach:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. \"The Chick's Beach House\" is a spacious, oceanfront home with luxury amenities like a private pool. has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
