When to visit Bald Head Island & When to book:

• To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
• The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
• Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
• Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
• Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
• Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
• Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
• Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
• Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
