Tips and Tricks to get the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Carolina Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your family agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. C.B. @ The Sea
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
