Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
• Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
• Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
• Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
• Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
• Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
