Tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit Wilmington & When to book:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Davy Jones' Loft, Treehouse, and Treasure Hunt! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
