How to get the best Wilmington rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Wilmington Cottage -Mins to Downtown, Beaches & UNCW; Pet friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
