Tips and Tricks to get the very best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your family choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. New! Updated Bungalow Close to Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach destination you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
