Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to visit Oak Island & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try changing your family's Carolina Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sandy Dunes: Spectacular Oceanfront Home with Amazing Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
